QUETTA – The National Physiology Quiz Competition (BPQ) 2026 was successfully held at Bolan Medical College (BMC), gathering medical students from across Pakistan for a major academic showdown.

More than 60 medical colleges from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan took part in the event. The competition was organized by the Department of Physiology at BMC, in collaboration with the Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS), the Pakistan Physiological Society (PPS), and with the support of SAAP.

Key Highlights & Results

• Main Objective: The initiative focused on fostering clinical thinking, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills among future medical professionals by providing a single national competitive platform.
• Winners & Prizes: Cash awards, shields, and certificates were presented to top achievers. The 1st prize winner received Rs. 50,000, 2nd prize received Rs. 30,000, 3rd prize received Rs. 20,000, while the 4th and 5th positions took home Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively.
• Organizing Leadership: Prominent figures recognized for their roles in managing and guiding the mega-event include Professor Dr. Razia Ahmed, Professor Dr. Israr Ahmed, Director BQP Dr. Nargis Haider, Principal of Bolan Medical College Professor Dr. Muhammad Alyas Baloch, Vice Chancellor CASVAB Professor Dr. Zahid Mustafa, and Head of PPS Professor Dr. Shahnaz Malik.

The organizers emphasized their commitment to making this quiz a regular annual fixture to continuously elevate medical education standards throughout the region.
